Roe, Griffith discuss debt stance

Roe, Griffith discuss debt stance: "The Mountain Empire's two Republican congressmen face tough decisions when it comes to the country's debt ceiling debate: Do they stand by their party's leaders and support a plan to cut federal spending by nearly $3 trillion over the next decade or reject it in hopes of getting Congress to tighten its belt a little more?"

The Senate plan:
Cut, Cap and Balance:
  • Cuts federal spending by $5.8 trillion over the next 10 years and raises the debt ceiling once
  • Supported by conservative House members, rejected by the Senate and Obama
